How much did it cost!?!?!

The Alfred Hale Rubber Company back in 1917 sold complete diving packages.

They consisted of

Air pump …………………………………….$400 2 pair diving mittens………….$10

Diving helmet……………………………….$100 1 pair of rings and clamps….$5

2 Rubber Diving Suits…………………….$80 1 life line…………………………..$2.50

150 feet of air hose ………………………$54 1 pair sleeve extenders…….$5

1 set of diving weights and belt………$16 6 feet snap tubing……………$3

1 set of lead soled diving shoes…..….$12 1 pair chafing pants………….$2.50

2 pair divers stockings…………………..$2.50 2 woolen shirts and drawers…$5

2 pair woolen mittens…………………….$2 1 basket for helmet dress and hose $15

6 spare nuts for hat………………………..$3 1 spare air hose coupling………$3

1 yard of repair rubber…………………….$2 1 can rubber cement……………$0.75

1 cutting punch…………………………….$0.75 1 knife with hose holder………..$10

1 helmet cushion………………………….$3 1 woolen cap………………………$1.25

Grand total - $738.25

So for perspective the cost in 2023 dollars would have been $17351.18. Much cheaper to get into diving back in 1917, but as for comfort I believe I will stick to my current set up. Though I still wear wool but I will keep the Kirby Morgan 37SS.
